WATCH: Mark McCloskey, man who defended home from BLM, announces Senate run in powerful campaign ad

As the most reliable and balanced news aggregation service on the internet, DML News App offers the following information published by Fox News:

A St. Louis attorney who famously defended his home from Black Lives Matter protesters who broke into his neighborhood announced his bid for U.S. Senate on Tuesday, telling “Tucker Carlson Tonight” he will defend Missourians the same way he defended his wife and family.

Mark McCloskey, who alongside wife Patricia, was pictured last year wielding a rifle and a handgun respectively when Black Lives Matter demonstrators ingressed toward their property, told host Tucker Carlson that the confrontation may have been a message in itself.

The article goes on to state the following:

“God came knocking on my door disguised as an angry mob. It really did wake me up,” he said.

Tuesday night, McCloskey released a powerful and passionate campaign ad announcing his run for Senate, and wrote, An angry mob marched to destroy my home and kill my family, I took a stand to defend them. I am a proven fighter against the mob. When the mob comes to destroy our home, our state, our nation— I’ll defend it. I will NEVER BACK DOWN. Help me FIGHT BACK.”

McClouskey is running to replace outgoing Sen. Roy Blunt, who announced in March that he won’t seek reelection.  He isn’t alone in the GOP primary race. Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt is also running, along with former Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens, who resigned amid a sex scandal in May 2018.

Tuesday night, McClouskey announced the launch of his campaign in an interview with Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

Former Democrat senator Claire McCaskill, who was defeated by GOP Sen. Josh Hawley in 2018, mocked McClouskey’s senate campaign, saying on Twitter, “The new Republican Party in my state. The only qualification you need to run for US Senate is to wave a gun around at Black people. ”

In a separate report, the Washington Examiner shared the following:

McCloskey and his wife, both attorneys in St. Louis, gained national attention after images and video showed the two standing armed with guns outside of their home June 28, 2020, as they stared down Black Lives Matter protesters who had entered their private neighborhood.

“A mob of at least 100 smashed through the historic wrought-iron gates of Portland Place, destroying them, rushed toward my home, where my family was having dinner outside and put us in fear of our lives,” McCloskey said at the time. “This is all private property. There are no public sidewalks or public streets. We were told that we would be killed, our home burned, and our dog killed. We were all alone facing an angry mob.”
