A national security correspondent for The New York Times said the media’s coverage of the Capitol Riot was “overblown” and that the events of Jan. 6, 2021 were “no big deal,” according to undercover video released Tuesday by Project Veritas.
NYT correspondent Matthew Rosenberg and his colleagues have described the reported presence of FBI plants among the rioters outside of the U.S. Capitol a year earlier as a “reimagining” of the “attack.” But in the Project Veritas video, which appears to have been recorded without his knowledge, Rosenberg paints a different picture and claims that “there were a ton of FBI informants amongst the people who attacked the capitol.”
The article goes on to state the following:
“I know I’m supposed to be traumatized,” Rosenberg said in the video, “but like, all these colleagues who were in the (Capitol) building and are like, ‘Oh my God it was so scary!’ I’m like, ‘fuck off!’”
Rosenberg had previously reported on the Jan 6 riot as “a violent interruption to the transition of power,” but in the video he has a completely different opinion, saying, “It was like, me and two other colleagues who were there outside and we were just having fun.”
Rosenberg also said of his colleagues at the NY Times, “I kind of want to be like, ‘dude come on, you were not in any danger.’ These fucking little dweebs who keep going on about their trauma … Shut the fuck up. They’re fucking bitches.”
Of the entire political left’s take on the Jan 6 event, Rosenberg said, “They were making it too big a deal. They were making this some organized thing that it wasn’t.”
In releasing the video on YouTube, Project Veritas writes:
Project Veritas founder and CEO James O’Keefe revealed that Rosenberg’s article titled, “The Next Big Lies: Jan 6 was No Big Deal, or A Left-Wing Plot,” was written around the same time as he was making contradictory statements to a Project Veritas undercover reporter.
Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe approached New York Times correspondent Mark Mazzetti on the street on Tuesday, and tried to get a comment from him on the bombshell tape about to be released, but Mazzetti clammed up.
“There were a ton of FBI informants amongst the people who attacked the Capitol.”
