The United States of Tents (2019)

The HOMELESS CRISIS.

The United States of Tents is a documentary I made with my family. We traveled as far east as New York, and as far west as Hawaii. The film tackles the growing homelessness crisis in the U.S.

Released in 2019, we take viewers on a journey through various homeless encampments across the country, shedding light on the struggles of an estimated 500,000 U.S. citizens, veterans, and children living without stable housing.

The film features interviews with community leaders and outreach workers striving to address this devastating issue. It also spends time with homeless people of all colors and ages, showcasing the heart-wrenching life living on the streets.

Initially completed in 2018 for film festival submissions, it became available on Amazon Prime in late 2019.

Overall, the film explores the misconception of who the homeless are, highlights innovative solutions like tiny homes, and calls for greater awareness and action to confront this escalating epidemic.

It spent many months as the top selling film on Amazon Prime, where you can watch it today.

The poster is a photo taken by my daughter Ashley while we were in Atlanta. Sadly, the people at Amazon changed it without telling us, it is now a more friendly looking poster.
