They Come to America IV (2019)

The POLITICS of IMMIGRATION.

My films They Come to America I , They Come to America II, and They Come to America III were all sold on DVD. But by the time I made They Come to America IV, my time on cable TV had come to an end. Plus, with immigration being a huge topic amid the 2020 election, I knew I needed a bigger platform. I turned to Amazon Prime.

In my forth and final immigration film, I suggest that if Joe Biden were to win the election, the borders would be wide open in a way we had never seen before. I was 100% correct; Biden won, and the borders collapsed.

I am often asked which of the immigration films is my favorite. I can’t answer the question. They Come to America I is my favorite in terms of it being all so new to me. I was exploring a new world, one that I did not know existed, and it shows as the film progresses. The film shaped the direction of my film making career, and perhaps my legacy in terms of what I will be remembered for most as a documentary producer.

In They Come to America II, my own personal story of surviving 9/11 emerges, and I worked closely with my mentor, Fox News anchor John Roland. So it too has a special place.

With They Come to America III, it is my least favorite in terms of production because most of it was filmed alone and in below-zero temps, but it is special because no other film has ever captured the dangers of the northern border. I am very proud of the work I did in Canada.

With the above in mind, They Come to America IV is probably my favorite in the sense that it proves everything I have warned about for 18 years was proven true. For nearly two decades, I was called a hater and a sensationalist who exaggerated the threat of open borders. In a sad sort of way, not only have my films been legitimate warning alarms gone ignored, but I think they showcase me as a patriotic American who tried to save his country from what was coming but never got the credit.

If I had to pick a favorite, or one film that highlighted my work on immigration the best, it would likely be They Come to America IV. It is well produced, it did big numbers on Amazon, and I made it with my adult kids — they worked the cameras.

The poster ditched the “IV” as we did not want to confuse the viewers on Amazon with the first three not being available on the platform.
