Leftist journalist says Trump was correct about Deep State after reviewing JFK files

In this DML Report…
Leftist journalist Glenn Greenwald asserted on March 20, that newly released JFK assassination files, ordered declassified by President Donald Trump on January 23, validate the existence of a "deep state." The 63,400 pages, released on March 18, include a 1961 memo from JFK adviser Arthur Schlesinger Jr. warning of the CIA’s unchecked power and potential to become a “state within a state.” Greenwald ties this to Trump’s long-standing claim of a secretive government faction, a theory fueled by the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy in Dallas.

The files, totaling over 80,000 pages initially promised by Trump, reveal extensive CIA operations, including surveillance of Lee Harvey Oswald in Mexico City and KGB monitoring of him in the USSR. However, historians like Tim Naftali note no direct evidence challenges the Warren Commission’s finding that Oswald acted alone. The documents, while detailing U.S. spy activities and bureaucratic insights, lack conclusive proof of CIA orchestration of the assassination, despite conspiracy theories suggesting agency involvement due to Kennedy’s alleged intent to curb its power.

Public and expert reactions vary as of March 20. The National Archives release has reignited debate, with some, like Robert F. Kennedy Jr., claiming it supports broader cover-up narratives, while others see it as a “nothingburger” for conspiracy confirmation. Trump’s move fulfills a campaign pledge to disclose government secrets, but the files’ disorganized state and focus on intelligence methods rather than explosive revelations leave the “deep state” theory substantiated only in its historical concerns, not in definitive assassination evidence.
